Who am I ?

Hi, I'm Johanna Esprey!

Hi, I’m Johanna Esprey, Perinatal & Parenting Specialist, and proud mum of two daughters.

I’m French, living in an international family with my South African husband (who speaks English and Afrikaans), and I’m lucky to be surrounded by incredible foreign friends who have chosen to give birth and raise their children here in France.

Watching them navigate the French healthcare system, often without speaking the language, made me want to create something truly helpful. Something clear, warm, and supportive. Something I wish had existed when they first arrived.

That’s how Motherhood in France was born.

Working with Johanna during my postpartum was such a relief. As a first-time mum in France, I felt overwhelmed, emotionally and mentally, especially with all the paperwork and tasks after birth. Johanna helped me ease the mental load. She guided me step by step, making sure I didn’t forget anything, and explained everything in English — which made it so much easier to understand. I felt supported and truly understood. Speaking to a specialist in my own language during such a vulnerable time made all the difference. I’m so grateful for her calm, caring presence.

From the very beginning of my pregnancy, Johanna was by my side, and I honestly don’t know how I would have managed without her. Beyond the practical help, she was also there emotionally. Every time I felt unsure, anxious, or just needed to talk, she listened with care and without judgment.
